WHAT LAIR SPEAKS ABOUT

THE PRACTICE - A Training Series in Mindfulness, Performance Intelligence, Emotional Balance and Wellbeing

These lectures teach your executives, management teams and sales staff how to; enhance performance intelligence, deepen mindfulness and mental resilience, create emotional balance as well as overall health and wellbeing.

They can be delivered in person or virtually. They can be tailored to your company's needs as separate stand-alone trainings, in a series, over a weekend or a one-day-long seminar.

PRACTICE 1: MINDFULNESS AND EMOTIONAL BALANCE

In this talk, I demystify mindfulness and meditation. Here we find that the benefits of mindfulness can be accessed at any moment. We don’t need to sit in meditation for long periods or for years on end in order to de-stress through mindfulness. Practicing mindfulness can happen anywhere and at any time. It is the key to emotional intelligence, emotional balance and mental resilience. Mindfulness increases productivity and creativity as it dramatically decreases mind wandering. It makes us better communicators, better decision makers and it sharpens focus. The practice is used by fortune 500 CEOs, sports stars, the U.S. Marines and by anyone who wants to gain an edge over the competition.

PRACTICE2: SELF INTEGRATION AND PERFORMANCE INTELLIGENCE

You wouldn’t use Instagram to send an email and in like kind, success begs that we show up in the right part of self to get the job done right. The latest research in compartmentalization of the mind shows that familiarity with our parts of self is the key to success that no one is talking about. Here we learn to train our mindfulness skills on what part of self shows up especially when we need to perform to our highest potentials. This practice helps guard us against “choking” in the moment and ushers in performance intelligence or our ability to make sound decisions when in stressful or difficult situations.

PRACTICE 3: MENTAL RESILIENCE AND THE INNER NARRATIVE

If we want to create good physical health we often start by watching what we put into our mouths. In like kind, staying mentally healthy requires we watch what we put in our brains. The brain tells a story that the body believes. If we are not mindfully watching our inner narratives, we will never achieve emotional intelligence. The Narrative is a practice in paying close attention to the stories we create and is the secret to mental resilience. In this training I teach you how to root out negative thinking and beliefs and how to re-author those narratives. Mastering this practice dramatically decreases stress and increases our of success.

PRACTICE 4: CHOOSING YOU IS CHOOSING WELLNESS

Self-care in our country has largely been looked at as a luxury or “soft skill”. This practice is a reminder that we have to take care of ourselves, to not only stay healthy mentally, emotionally and physically but to be able to support others. In this practice, we aim to make self care a priority. Simply put, when we take care of ourselves, we have more to give on all fronts. In this talk and training you learn that we are beings who crave balance and achieving balance in our lives creates health and wellbeing at every level. Be warned this is not another lecture about meditating more or going to the gym. This talk helps you find the source of your balance or your “well”.

PRACTICE 5: FINDING YOUR GROWING EDGE

A natural reaction to failure is to deny it. Personal responsibility is the cornerstone of leadership. In a time when so many are willing to pass the buck, this practice asks that you take a compassionate but honest self-assessment. Taking responsibility for your life and career means practicing the first four practices. In concert with this, personal responsibility means naming what you could have done better or different in every situation. It means having the courage and vulnerability to own your growing edge. This practice has the ability to retool the cultural fabric of an entire company.
